WhooHoo! Today’s the day that The Money Saving Mom’s Budget Book by Crystal Paine is released!! I was lucky enough to receive a copy before it was released to review. Plus you will have to opportunity to WIN This BOOK!!! I was given FIVE Copies to give away to Super Coupon Lady Readers!
REVIEW:
This book is not a change-everything-in-a-hurry, get-in-shape-today, get-rich-quick scheme. It’s a down-to-earth, practical, realistic, step-by-step plan for changing your spending habits and your life. The “how-to” strategies are detailed and proven. Well-organized and easy-to-follow, there are lots of examples to illustrate each point
Though chock full of methods, tips, and resources, Paine emphasizes gradual changes, to slowly shift your habits and incorporate them into your life, rather than taking on too much and burning out. Establishing a firm foundation – goals and a budget – comes first. Only after getting a solid start, do you add other strategies. By following Paine’s little-by-little method, you’ll have small successes all along the way, and, in the not-too-distant-future, you’ll surprise yourself with the bigger goals you’re able to accomplish. Worksheets are included for each step
This is an all-encompassing book about how to have a good (and fun!) life, while not breaking the bank. It’s a resource you’ll want to keep handy for frequent reference, as you build your skills in living frugally and richly.

My tip for saving money is to every month sit down and make a list of what I have to pay, how much money I will receive from work, discount all the to pay things, and see how much I have left after all the deductions and from what is left of the money I save half and with with the other half I do grocery “with coupons” and all other necessarily things.
Coupons and sales!!! I dont buy what I dont use though even if its a really great deal!!!
Do not shop with the kids. If you have to, feed them first. lol
My money saving tip/strategy is coupons!! I can’t imagine shopping without them. I’m not a shelf clearer or an extreme couponer but I do save $25 to $100 per week with coupons depending on the sales, and if they are doing double or triple coupons.
I am just starting out with this,so this book would be real helpful. This month I am trying to use everything in my freezer and pantry!!!
I did all of the above and my tip is to always use coupons.
I shop end of season sales and buy clothes for the next year. I store these in my closet until the time arrives for them to be worn. My grandkids love to go into my closet and see what surprises they can find!
Thank you for all that you do to help us save money. Couponing has been a big help to our budget in these lean times!
coupons & store ads &stock up deals!!
I plan my trips and try to get everything done in one or two trips(Saves on Gas) I also use as many coupons as I can and do not buy something unless its either on sale or I can scrore a good deal on it!
My best tip is budget and stick to it…
did all of the above and my money saving tip is try to shop in one place if possible using as many coupons as possible to save time and gas as well as money which is why you use the coupons to start with!!!
Organize! Yes, Everything! Don’t go to the grocery store w/o organizing a list, organize your pantry so you’re not over buying or letting food expired, Keep a record of your car maintenance so you know when to replace something before it comes a problem, etc…most importantly keep your bills and bank account organized and up to date!
One of my favorite ways to save money involve childrens clothing. I always manage to wait for the Sales, plus coupons that are at least 25% off for Children’s Place. I was able to buy $78 worth of clothes for $28 one weekend!! This way my kids have nice dependable clothing and I can afford to buy it!! Another great deal I nabbed was when Macy’s had a $10 off purchase of $25. I waited for the deal & got a $50 hello Kitty sweatshirt/pant set & carters $22 outfit for $18 after sale prices and the coupon! It was AWESOME!! The best advice I can give is this…if you see something you want, come back for it in a week or two and you are sure to get a better price!!
I like to shop at places like save-a-lot and aldis where I get more bang for my buck! I also like couponing and bilo’s bonus card to save on gas prices
Never ever ever pay full price. No matter how much you want something, it will end up on sale. Just stalk the item until it hits the sales rack. If you have a coupon to add even better!

trying to combine coupons with clearance and sales
My most commonly used money saving tip is to groceryshop once a month! I only go every Friday for produce(which is located at the FRONT of the store!)…I get milk and maybe eggs every other week. I have my meals planned out for the month, but I tend to cook the same thing every month so my grocery list rarely changes! Combining this with couponing and stockpiling, we are saving thousands!!!
I try to save money at the grocery store with coupons.
i take advantage of this website, using the free sales and coupons when things are on sale
Live by the budget. When one sits down to figure out income and outgoing, it sure is an eye-opening experience…at least for me. There have already been some major unexpected costs with a sick pet that have broke the budget, so to speak, but we’re working on things.
I only have a household budget for shopping my husband does all the other. If I dont spend all of budget it goes in a jar to pay for clothing for kiddos.
Save first.
My best tip is to use coupons only on things that you planned to buy, not just because you have a coupon, unless its free
I try to regift or make homemade gifts as much as possible.
I try to be very mindful of each and every purchase I make and double check to ensure that I get the very best price!

One way we’ve been saving is to not take the husband or kids grocery shopping! This year we’re implementing couponing, mealing planning, buying from the list and what’s on sale from the ads.
I am starting DIY cleaners as well as twice a month freezer cooking to save money and waste.
My family has started a budget database where all of our expenses and income are tracked. We have input for the next 6 months and what savings their will be. We have now tried to come up with ways to cut cost in those areas such as using coupons for the grocery section, paying off a loan we have. We also use the envelope system for our money instead of debit cards.
@ Monica Singleton I would love to see a sample menu that you create and your tricks for shopping once a month. I have tried this and seem to run out to the store for what I think are little things and end up spending $30-$50 on my purchases
Meal planning has helped me save so much and kept us from eating out as much as before!
I did all of the above things but when I tried to share on FB I got this msg:
The content you’re trying to share includes a link that’s been blocked for being spammy or unsafe:
ftjcfx.com
So I just shared it on my page without using the button on the post.

I have become a huge couponer in the last year and this would be a great book to have on my saving money venture.
thx
I stack MQs, store Qs and sales for the lowest OOP. I stock up on our favorite brands at pharmacies when I can get them for free, really cheap, or even get paid to buy them.
Coupons!! Sales and second hand stores
COUPONING is my main money saving strategy tip but i would love to learn others!

Sorry forgot my most used money saving tip. For me using coupons is how I save the most money. I did do all the other requirements too!
Make a list and stick to the list!
Coupons and lists. Thank you and good luck to everyone.
Hi ,
I did all the tasks to win BUT the “share the link”. I got this message when I was trying: “The content you’re trying to share includes a link that’s been blocked for being spammy or unsafe”
My commonly used task to save money is using the internet. You can get great tips on deals from other couponers around!
Shopping with cash, I spend less,
I use coupons and The Wal Green Reg. Rewards as well as CVS its just like money for buy things I need.
Only take as mush cash as your wanting/planning on spending
This site looks like what I’ve been looking for.
I’m using everything in my freezer and pantry and will stock it again with staples and planned purchases with coupons and sales
