Sharon,
I would bring in a copy of Walmart’s Coupon Policy and highlight where it states, “If coupon value exceeds the price of the item, the excess may be given to the customer as cash or applied toward the basket purchase.” If a CSM still won’t let you have the overage, please call the corporate office and let them know. Walmart is pushing use of coupons and they need to be aware when their policy is not be followed. Hope that helps!! :)

Just have a question: If I want to print out all the coupons here for the free items for Target and then I go there to only get those items, nothing else in my basket, do they allow that? I was just thinking of getting the items to give to a friend in need and am not a regular coupon user.
Thanks,
Laura

Yes you can Laura. You may want to print Target’s Coupon Policy. Some of the items are less than the coupon value so they will need to adjust the coupon value down to the price amount (as stated in their policy). Some cashiers are not trained on this practice.

That is so sweet of you to help your friend. I wish you both the best of luck! :)

I tried using Reach, Bic and Oral B at Target and was denied. Told they can’t give cash back or adjust coupon down to purchase price. Funny enough at the same store 2 days before they were honored to which she said well they shouldn’t have been and I will make sure they are told that. I have had no issues at Walmart with the cost of the purchase being less that the coupon. I have also used the $1 bounty on the single roll without issue.

You may want to print Target’s Coupon Policy. You can show them that it clearly states that they will adjust the coupon value down to the price amount. Some cashiers are not trained on this practice.

A few days ago I was told at target that I can’t use coupons on trial size or travel size products. I told them I used the same coupon a week before on the same product and the manager told me it must have been a seasonal worker who didn’t know all the policies. The cashier didn’t have to force approve the coupon it scanned with no problems. Just an FYI! I will start carrying their policies with me when I shop!

Scored big at CVS today. Jumbo box of Huggies, normal price, 22.99. On sale for 19.99 with $1 RR. CVS scanner coupon for $3.50 off Jumbo box of Huggies, a $3 coupon off $15 or more baby supplies and a $3 Huggies manufacturer coupon. Final price? $9.49. SCORE! Also picked up a $10 CVS gift card on the $30 purchase (used $5 of coupons on that deal) as well as redeemed $8.50 in RR.

I just had my first conflict with Target today. The senario: Huggies diapers sale: $37.99 and get $10 GC wyb 2. I had 2 sets of coupons: Target coupon for – $3.50 and an Manufacture coupon for -$1.50. I had a set of coupons for each box of diapers. They said I couldn’t use the the 2 manufacture coupons in the same transaction because the coupon stated: “1 coupon per purchase”. If I did 2 separate transactions it would have been fine, but I would have lost out on the $10 GC.

Not only wouldn’t they do this transaction, but also the Kashi and Pull-ups transactions because the manufacture coupons said “1 coupon per purchase.” Just to clarify: these coupons did not say per transaction, but per purchase and they were not internet coupons. Anyone else have a run in like this? I have done this type of transaction before with no problems. The Manager (not the actual manager, just the night manager) said that Target is cracking down coupons. I had the policy, but she wouldn’t even look at it and said she knew the coupon policy. Not sure what My next step should be. Very fusturated by this!

SCL,

I didn’t get the deal though… :( Manager said it was because the coupon stated 1 per purchase. I have done this deal last week with no problems. And Now all of a sudden its an issue?

Janette, it seems that so many cashiers/managers have such a hard time understanding “1 per purchase.” You are purchasing 2, so you can use 2 coupons. It’s totally different than “1 per transaction.” Sorry you had a hard time. You are doing the right thing, you are using your coupons correctly.
