Kroger discontinues double coupons

BREAKING NEWS: Kroger discontinues double coupons . . .

Kroger discontinues double coupons in Midwest region (NKY/Cincinnati/Dayton Division) starting March 1, 2013! I would think that this is just the beginning, I’m sure we will see more Kroger stores across the county announcing that their Kroger will discontinue double coupons.

This is sad news for all of us coupon users, but don’t be disheartened. There are still ways to save even if your store doesn’t double coupons. Make sure to read my Couponing 101 Post, even if you are a veteran couponer, you may pick up some new things! Plus don’t forget to check out my other Post and Videos on the Super Coupon Lady Pinterest Board

You can still save lots on food even though your stores don’t double coupons . . .

You should be looking to save on average about 40-50%. Also, don’t forget to check out Drug Stores like CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aid for Food. They usually run great deals and you can use Store Rewards to pay for your food (like cereal, canned goods, bread and more). Plus each week I post a Shop for Free List, letting you know about all the Free Deals you can score using coupons at various stores around the county!

Make sure to Follow Super Coupon Lady on Facebook for all the latest deals!

my fry’s grocery (kroger affiliate) tried this here in tucson. apparently, i wasn’t the only one that stopped shopping there because after several months, they brought the any manu Q under a dollar is matched to a $1 back.
smartest thing they ever did, in my humble opinion. if people stop shopping there, go to walmart and price-match (which is exactly what i did), they will FEEL the loss in their bottome line and figure out how to get their “valued customers” back :)

The dou. ble coupons are the main reason I choose Kroger over other places. If they discontinue the double coupons, I won’t be shopping there very often.

Kroger here wouldn’t let me pair a store coupon w/ a manufactured coupon the other day…I’ve done it there for years…this is where I go when i ‘coupon shop’ but if they stop doubling, I will go else where. They will feel a bad sting in business if they stop doubling!…maybe Walmart should start doubling!!! :-)

This double couponing thing sets Kroger apart from other super markets.

Same here. when Fry’s discontinued this I stopped shopping there- no reason to shop their overpriced stores. They brought it back quick fast!

I live in az also, so we have Frys and I hope they don’t do that here. Like many others have stated, I go to Frys for most of my couponing as they match up to a $1 for coupons that are less than that. It would be a sad day if I stopped going to Frys because of this new change, even if its many months from now.

Enjoy those of you that live in areas where they double coupons. Here in Wisconsin we have one store that allows doubling of coupons up to $1, one day a week with a limit of 5 coupons. Whoopee! Not a huge advantage, and the clerk has her system of determining which ones get doubled and it’s not always the high dollar value ones. We could never make it on Extreme Couponing here.

The Krogers here in Macon , Georgia havent stopped doubling their coupons yet , but they have changed their policy to where you can only use four like coupons no matter how many you buy. This is where I do a lot of shopping , but we have quite a selection of other stores here that I would gladly ride across town to go to if they do stop doubling. I love their sales and I have never cleared a shelf. I have had to get a few rainchecks , but have never cleared a shelf. I love Publix coupon policy. They have got to be one if not the best grocery chain arounc in my book. They are always clean, polite and I never have any problems with my coupons , ever , with them. Kroger on the other hand I have had many problems with and have at stopped shopping with them a few times in the past. But they are always closer to where I live and I love their clearance section so I always seem to end up going back. Aldi is another store I love and they dont even take coupons , but they service and prices are what keeps me going back there. That and the lowest milk prices in town all the time. But Im telling yall what they, Kroger, really needs to step up its game or I see them losing more business than what they already have.
