Here is a FUN, Frugal Activity your entire Family will enjoy! Let’s Make Butter!
All you need to Make Butter is:
1) Whipping Cream OR Heavy Cream
2) Jar with a lid (we used an empty Jam Jar)
Look for Cream on clearance, stores usually buy a lot of it this time of year and will mark it down. So keep your eye out at your local grocery store!
To start: Just pour some Heavy Cream in a clean, empty jar. We started with just a little (about 1/2 of a small jam jar). We have small children, so we wanted them to see the effect before they lost interest!
Make sure the lid is on securely and SHAKE! Shake, Shake, Shake!!
You can check it and see what’s happening! You can see here that it turned into Whipped Cream! We all had a little lick. Needed some sugar or honey! lol! Now back to Shaking!! Shake, Shake, Shake!
We all took turns and sang the ABC song, counted, make up songs . . . it was really fun!
TaDa!! We have BUTTER! We poured out the milk and took out the butter. My kiddos LOVE Milk so they had to try a sip (tasted like Skim Mil). They were Super excited!
WhoooHooo! We made BUTTER! We got out the “Smurf Bread” aka Melba Toast and smeared some of our homemade butter on it! DELICIOUS!
