I can vouch for the pregnancy tests. I tried for years to get pregnant and the dollar store tests saved me a ton of money. I also can give thumbs up to the Totally Awesome carpet stain treatment. It works great!

I always get my seasonal decorations from The Dollar Tree. They look just as good as what you’d get at other stores, but they’re MUCH cheaper.

The Dollar Tree is GREAT for nick knacks. I always get my decorations and things from them. Great post!

I LOVE The Dollar Tree. It’s my go-to store for crafty goodness. They have a lot of the things you’d get at the big box crafting stores, but at much lower prices.

Reply

Courtney September 23, 2014 at 7:33 pm

Dollar Tree is such a great store. Whenever I do a craft, I check there first. They usually have what I need at a great price.

Definitely Party supplies. I love getting decorations and helium balloons from Dollar Tree. Also coloring books and crafting supplies are a great deal too! But I think the best deal is wrapping paper & gift bags!

My boyfriend calls it the $20 store because that’s how much we spend every time we go there. Now that they have frozen stuff I like to buy the frozen strawberries for smoothies. They are good and they are 12 oz for a dollar.

Reply

Super Coupon Lady November 20, 2014 at 11:02 am

LOL! So true! I will have to check out their frozen fruit! thanks for the tip!

Reply

Dollar Tree was my go-to place while I was at school. I mean, you can purchase all kinds of food, the only downfall is there weren’t any frozen/refrigerated foods at the ones near me (I don’t know if they even do that?). But I purchased all my cleaning supplies there and I still get all my decorations there. It’s one of my favorite stores and a lot of the products are good quality for the price.

Reply

GWSTB October 13, 2015 at 9:11 am

Some do. The one in my town has all kinds of frozen stuff- I’ve even seen steak, though I was not brave enough to actually try it. But I love to get the Minute Maid Frozen Lemonade!

About once a month I take my 9 and 6 year old to the Dollar Store as a treat. They get $5 to spend on anything they want (their mother limits them to 1 candy item) and they go wild. It will fill a couple of hours while I sit for them and they love it. I can also use it as a bribe. ie: after you clean your rooms we can go to the Dollar Store. I also get to stock up on items for my crafting, or tutoring or just for my house.

The LA’s Totally Awesome Degreaser is seriously the best degreaser out there. You can clean baked on oven spills and grills with this stuff! It melts grease and junk like magic. Pack side of your skillet stained and dirty looking? Solved. Just be careful on wood furniture, because it does take some finishes off.

Reply

Faye August 6, 2015 at 9:06 pm

Dollar tree carries Totally Awesome cleaners of all types. They are better than some of the name brand items. The craft items and candles, party items. I did a whole Luau luncheon this summer for just a few dollars!

I was pissed when I found the exact same thing as I paid more for at Michael’s for so much cheaper! I was so glad I found this cheaper, though.

Reply

one of my absolute favorite things to get at dollar tree are the cheddar filled pretzel bites! They only have them at the larger dollar trees with the freezer section but they are the best thing since sliced bread!

Dana August 11, 2015 at 7:46 pm

I love everything in these stores, but especially love buying school supplies and neat craft supplies. My kids are all 3 and under, so better to bling their stuff with dollar stuff rather than mommy’s until they learn everything in moderation.

Number 1…. greeting cards. I hate to buy them anywhere else and I always buy extra so I never have to pay full price. I usually have sympathy, get well, just because, and thank you cards on hand because those are the ones I don’t know I’ll need until last minute. I buy birthday cards a few times a year for everyone. I always have candles and cute little note books and journals to make little gifts up at the last minute. Holiday cups and plates for giving candy and cookies so they don’t have to be returned and makes the gift nicer. Personal products that we give to the homeless especially the toothbrush and paste combo. We just went last week and bought bags of flowers, ribbons, pumpkins, etc. for making wreaths. Has anyone ever gone in and only spent one dollar?

Reply

Anita November 6, 2015 at 2:27 pm

My mom in NY always buys my cards from there and so do I(in NC), so many times we get the same ones?
Who would spend $4-6.00 on a card when they can send the same sentiment for a buck?!

I LOVE the yellow bottle of Totally Awesome! Right before I put the coins in the carwash, I spray that on all the bug splatters on the front grill of my vehicles and bam! off they slide. Easy. Quick. Effective. Dollar Tree has terrific hair pretties if you have little girls too.

I buy a candlestick and cute plate to hot glue together. It makes a great cake plate for very little money. They also work well when taking a cake to a party and you dont have to worry about it getting broken.

Office supplies are cheap and they carry some good brands. I also get thank you cards. I get fun little gifts for cheap gift bbaskets. I pick up food to keep in my desk drawer for a quick lunch.

I agree with previous posters about the items they get. And I ALWAYS look for stocking stuffers; I look year round. I have gotten items that are $5-7 (or more!) in a regular store at the Dollar Tree (Hello Kitty 5 inch girl dolls, Littlest Pet Shop two pack, Angry Bird stuff, even some As Seen on TV stuff!). Also, I pick up facial tissue there. The small square boxes are almost $1.40 in the big Mart stores and the kids always need a box or two to take to school. And I don’t feel guilty trying a new make up or whatever when it is only ONE DOLLAR! A little guilty (or almost guilt-less?) shopping pleasure for me.

My best friend and I love Dollar Tree. When she moved 4 hours away We have made it a ritual to call each other up when we go to Dollar Tree and ask the other the price of an item. So besides saving money it has increased our friendship regardless of the miles apart.

If you are filling shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child this is a great place to shop. But you need to shop early because, if you don’t they will run out of items that you can put in the shoe boxes.

Plastic bags!! The sandwich, quart, gallon, and even two gallon size. I didn’t know there was such a thing as two gallon, but when it turned up on my 2nd grade granddaughter’s school supply list, we found them there! Also, I never take a credit card into Dollar Tree.. Only a $20 bill, so I dont go hog wild!!

I get stemware at Dollar Tree. I’ve gotten some that looks like Waterford crystal and it’s heavy enough that it holds up well and is dishwasher safe! I like their microwave popcorn, 3 pks for a dollar and pops better than more expensive brands. I get the same bread there as I’d pay about $4 a loaf for in supermarkets. I’m a writer and get lots of office supplies and journals and notebooks there. It’s my first stop for shopping. Also great silk flowers and ribbon, so I always stock up on those as well.

Bought a sponge mop there. It literally fell apart before getting half the kitchen floor done. The sponge just ripped right off of it. I wasn’t trying to dig to China with it either.

The tiny plastic containers are nice. We keep our seeds in them every year from harvesting the garden. My wife likes their instant coffee.

Hair accessories, fingernail polish, liquid hand soap, greeting cards, but my favorite is the plastic cake plates with a lid! $1 and you have a cake plate you don’t mind if it doesn’t make it back to you. I’ve even used them for bake sales–make a little extra for that cake that comes ready to go to their family or church gathering–presentation is everything.

I always make a trip through Dollar Tree before I go on vacation. I can get a pop-up hamper, foldable cloth bins for organizing, covered disposable coffee cups, travel toiletries, plastic zipper bags, etc, all for under $10. I often leave many of these things behind so I can have room in my luggage to bring back t-shirts and other souvenirs. Cheaper than extra baggage fees!
