The family and I just got to experience a fun filled weekend at Wilderness in the Smokies in Pigeon Forge, TN during our Dollywood’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Trip! Wilderness In The Smokies is a resort located in Pigeon Forge TN and it’s known for it’s AMAZING Indoor (and outdoor) water parks, arcade area, a 3 story ropes course, luxurious golf course, and many other amenities! It was super cold when we went so we LOVED the Indoor water park!

You can see my kiddos have a Fantastic Time in the Video above, if you can’t see it go HERE to watch it.

It was so nice to be able to getaway for the weekend and be able to enjoy the fun of a water park in the middle of November. There were different areas of the water park that were tailored for all ages. My son (who’s 6 years old) loved the wave pool that had complimentary inner tubes so he could ride the waves and pretend he was a surfer, and of course me and my daughter loved the hot tub that had an indoor area and also an outdoor area, we took turns going from indoors, and when it got to hot we’d enjoy the outdoor area without having to get out of the hot tub, it was heavenly. We thought this place would be mainly for the kids enjoyment but my husband found his inner child here, he rode the water slides more than the kids, and he also boogie boarded on their high tech stationary wave! It was a blast to watch him have so much fun! There is also an area for kids that has little water slides and water sprinklers that is very age appropriate. Plus they have another area with some really HUGE Water Slides! One thing that I really liked about this resort was that the water park was included in our stay, and we didn’t spend half our time waiting in lines because the water park is only for people staying in the resort, so it never felt over crowded, which was a big plus when you have two little ones with you.

The room that we stayed in was very nice. It had a nice warm cabin feel to it, but we were definitely not roughing it with granite counter tops, a flat screen TV, a fridge, and a counter top range. The whole family really enjoyed the room, it was like our area that we could really relax in after playing hard at the water park.  I would highly recommend this place to anyone that loves to have fun and relax at the same time.

Have ever been to Wilderness in the Smokies?! I would love to hear about your experiences. If you haven’t been, I would highly recommend putting it on your list of MUST DO items this winter!

This trip was provided by USFG and room stay was complimentary, all opinions expressed in this article are my own.
