A bar of cream cheese is 8 oz, should we use one package or two?

Paula Austin June 29, 2014 at 5:31 pm

I’ve never seen a 16 oz. package of cream cheese. Can you look on your package?

I’m thinking…recipe fail. lol

I used one block (8oz.) of cream cheese and it is delicious! I let my daughters (7&3) lick the spoons and they both asked if they could just eat this frosting for dinner! I think daddy will be very happy with his birthday cake! Thank you!

YAY!! That makes me so happy! Hope he loved his birthday cake as much as your girls loved the frosting!

Jamie August 21, 2014 at 7:21 pm

Can leftovers be saved in the refrigerator?

Super Coupon Lady August 21, 2014 at 9:50 pm

Yes for up to about 7-10 days! Or you can freeze it!

Krysten Gibson September 1, 2014 at 1:29 pm

I have used this recipe whenever I make PB frosting, as it is my husband’s favourite, and we absolutely LOVE it! Best recipe ever for PB frosting!! I never thought to use cream cheese in it. It holds it together nicely and gives it a beautifully creamy texture whereas other recipes I have used without cream cheese, have been incredibly hard to spread and it won’t stay together! Thank you for such a wonderful and easy way to make it!

I tried this recipe and it turned out so good..I was wondering if anyone thinks nutella instead of peanut butter would turn out as well? same consistency also?

Super Coupon Lady October 22, 2014 at 6:10 pm

So happy it turned out great! Would love to hear if nutella would work! I might have to try that myself this weekend!

Janic October 25, 2014 at 2:56 pm

Is this enough to frost a 2 layer cake and have frosting for the middle?

Just Me December 7, 2014 at 5:31 pm

Edie February 5, 2015 at 4:18 pm

Made this today. The taste was great. But I found it to be to soft to pipe decoraterations on the cake. It was great as a filling. I am wondering if it should have called for 4 cups of confectioner’s sugar like other frosting, instead of 2 cups.
Thanks for the recipe.

Jan April 17, 2015 at 6:35 am

Does call for 4 cups confectioner please reread the recipe

paula April 24, 2015 at 7:12 pm

This frosting is the bomb. Just made it to frost birthday cupcakes. Works great out of an icing bag!

Super Coupon Lady May 9, 2015 at 9:04 am

Awesome!! So glad you liked it Paula! It really is the bomb!! 🙂

Paulina June 14, 2015 at 7:04 pm

What if I used honey nut cream cheese?…

Myla September 27, 2015 at 10:17 pm

I’ve made this twice and it git rave reviews each time. I put it on chocolate cake and chopped up peanut butter cups for the top of the cake and between the layers. Delicious!

Lynn October 13, 2015 at 7:22 pm

Help…making this tonight! Do I use… 8 oz or 16 oz of Cream Cheese?

Super Coupon Lady October 16, 2015 at 1:25 pm

8 oz!

samantha September 25, 2016 at 12:25 am

This may be a stupid question but if I’m useing the frosting to make a pie, would I just put it in the pie crust and refridgrate?

Jessicz October 5, 2017 at 3:46 pm

Hi i was wondering do u have to refrigerate whatever u frost or can u leave out dince there is cream cheese in it?

Super Coupon Lady October 6, 2017 at 8:29 am

You can leave a cake with cream cheese frosting out over night–the sugar will help preserve it–but if your kitchen is too hot, don’t take the risk. Stick it in the fridge!
