My family and I had a wonderful opportunity to travel to St Simons Island Georgia and stay at the luxurious King and Prince Resort.

When we arrived at the king and prince resort our baggages were whisked away right up to our room which was so nice since it was me, my husband, out two children, and my niece. The logistics of just getting the family in our room, not including all of our stuff, was a a big job, but the staff there was so helpful and it made our arrival seamless and smooth.

Once we got settled in we immediately got our bathing suits on and hit the beach. I must say before talking about the beach if you are like me and don’t like gathering all your stuff and children and then either driving or walking several blocks to get to the beach and then doing it all again just to get back to were you are staying, then there is no other option than the king and prince, because you literally walk out of your room and then you are right there on the beach with your toes in the sand and the kids playing and having an absolutely wonderful time, not to mention me and my husband were having a most relaxing time as well.

There are very few places that I have visited that I have had not only the beach right out of my front door but also 4 different swimming pools and a hot tub right within a very short walking distance as well as some very nice tennis courts, which was a bonus since my daughter Bella is an avid tennis player. It is absolutely perfect, one pool is a for the tiny kids another pool is geared more towards the toddler/tween kids and the other pool is for the whole family, then they have a more seperate pool which is a bit more laid back and has a hot tub as well. While we enjoyed the pool, it was really nice to be able to order drinks and food right at the convenience of a poolside lounge chair, and I must say the staff their were so attentive to our needs, truly felt like we were treated like royalty.

Echo is the King and Prince Resort’s premiere restaurant. After a long day of sun, beach, and pool we all worked up a huge appetite and the Resort’s restaurant Echo was absolutely the perfect spot for hunger. The menu was so good I had one of my most favorite comfort foods, the beef pot roast, which I am very particular about. It was so delicious I wish I had their recipe. My husband had the shrimp and grits, which he said “there is nothing like having authentic shrimp and grits right in the heart of the Low Country, it just doesn’t get better than this.” The kids were crazy over the kids’ meals and they even came in a super fun frisbee for them to play with. Make sure to save room for dessert!

The next morning was so relaxed and laid back. My husband and I took advantage of having our own kitchen, and made chocolate chip pancakes for the kids, while they watched their morning cartoons. We also were able to pack up some sandwiches and drinks for another big day at the beach, which was nice to be able to do and save a little money on not eating out for every meal.

The beach was so nice, the kids found so many knobbed welks which is native to the area and hermit crabs kept the kids occupied for hours, while me and the hubby sat in our beach chairs taking it all in.
I have been on many of vacations were I felt like I needed a vacation from my vacation, but this place was so relaxing and I never felt rushed. Everything we did I felt like it was on our own time, which made the King and Prince Resort feel like a true vacation.

We received complimentary stay, all opinions are my own.

The lobby looks gorgeous and the pool looks just as good. I like resorts near the beach, it makes it so much easier to head out, plus you get to leave the sand there and not take it home. 🙂
